FBI Arrests 8 Khalistani Terrorists in Major U.S. Crackdown – A Coordinated Strike Against Terrorism
In a significant operation on July 11, 2025, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies, arrested eight individuals associated with Khalistani terrorist groups across various locations in the United States. The arrests were part of a coordinated effort to dismantle organized crime syndicates with international links.
Key Arrest: Pavittar Singh Batala
Among those apprehended was Pavittar Singh Batala, a notorious gangster from Punjab, India. Batala is on India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) most-wanted list for his involvement in terror activities linked to the banned group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). He faces multiple charges, including extortion, arms smuggling, and murder. Indian authorities have filed a chargesheet against him, and his extradition is anticipated.
Other Arrests and Charges
The other individuals arrested include Dilpreet Singh, Arshpreet Singh, Amritpal Singh, Vishal, Gurtaj Singh, Manpreet Randhawa, and Sarabjit Singh. They face a range of serious charges, such as kidnapping, torture, false imprisonment, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and violations under the Gang Act. Additionally, several weapons-related charges were filed, including illegal possession of machine guns and high-capacity magazines.
During the operation, law enforcement agencies seized five handguns, an assault rifle, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, high-capacity magazines, and over $15,000 in cash. The operation was part of the FBI’s Summer Heat initiative, aimed at targeting violent offenders and gang members across the country.
The arrests highlight the transnational nature of terrorism and organized crime. Many of the arrested individuals had entered the U.S. illegally and were involved in criminal enterprises operating both in the U.S. and India. This operation underscores the importance of international cooperation in combating global security threats.
As the legal proceedings unfold, the international community will be closely monitoring the developments. The case serves as a reminder of the persistent threat posed by transnational terrorist organizations and the need for continued vigilance and cooperation among nations to ensure global security.
